The New Characters, Banners, and Items for Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.2
Seed and Orphie & Magus Gameplay and Banner Reveals

Seed Gameplay and Banner
Phase 1 of ZZZ version 2.2 will feature Seed’s banner alongside Trigger’s first rerun banner. The A-Rank Agents for both Phase 1 banners are going to be Anby and Nicole. Surprisingly, Trigger gets a rerun before Harumasa, but it fits since she’s also a member of Obol Squad.
For Seed’s gameplay, although she’s an Attack Agent, it seems like she also doubles as Support. Her gimmick is that she assigns her teammate with the highest attack stat as her “Vanguard”. When Seed uses her EX Special Attack, her Vanguard gets a damage buff, but the Vanguard can also buff Seed’s damage by performing their own EX Special Attack. Seed can even recover her Vanguard’s energy whenever she attacks if the Vanguard just so happens to be an Attack Agent.
There’s also a Steel Charge mechanic with Seed Sr., which will probably be explained more in-game. All in all, it seems like Seed is designed to complement fellow Attack Agents, especially the other new Agent for ZZZ version 2.2, Orphie & Magus.
Orphie & Magus Gameplay and Banner
Phase 2 of ZZZ version 2.2 will feature Orphie and Magus’s banner alongside Evelyn’s first rerun banner. The A-Rank Agents for both the Phase 2 banners are going to be Lucy and Anton.
Orphie’s gameplay is somewhat reminiscent of Burnice’s, except, of course, Orphie’s playstyle is likely going to be more focused on critical hits and high raw damage since she’s an Attack Agent. She accumulates a resource called Bottled Heat, which she can expend by holding her EX Special Attack button to unleash a continuous laser. Even her Ultimate Attack kind of looks like Burnice’s.
Orphie attacks enemies off-screen with Special and EX Special attacks as her teammates fight, which is how she gains Bottled Heat.
Whenever she consumes Bottled Heat, she also gives her team a damage buff, whose duration can be reset whenever someone uses Aftershock attacks. This means Soldier 0 - Anby and Trigger are going to be excellent pairings for Orphie.
Lastly, there’s also the usual content that comes with new Agents. Get ready for Seed and Orphie & Magus’ exclusive Dynamic Wallpapers, Trust Missions, and Avatars.
New W-Engines and Drive Discs Announced in the ZZZ Special Program for Version 2.2

Seed’s new W-Engine is called Cordis Germina, while Orphie & Magus’ is Bellicose Blaze. The ZZZ Special Program livestream didn’t explain what their effects are, so stay tuned regarding that matter.
As for Drive Discs, there are two new sets incoming. Here are their effects:
- Dawn’s Bloom
- 2-Piece Set - 15% Basic Attack damage buff.
- 4-Piece Set - Additional 20% Basic Attack damage buff, further enhanced by 20% for 25s when equipped on Attack Agent and they use their EX Special Attack or Ultimate.
- Moonlight Lullaby
- 2-Piece Set - 20% Energy Regen buff.
- 4-Piece Set - When equipped on Support Agents, they can buff their squad’s overall damage by 18% for 25s. This effect is triggered when the user uses EX Special Attacks or their Ultimate. Repeated trigger resets duration, but does not stack.
New Bangboo Announced in the ZZZ Special Program for Version 2.2

Two new Bangboo are making their way to the next update, according to the ZZZ Special Program.
An S-Rank Obol Squad Bangboo named Mercury that deals Fire damage will soon be available through the Bangboo banner.
An A-Rank named Excaliboo, whose damage is buffed by Rupture Agents, can be obtained from an upcoming event called Band of Brave Bangboo. Learn more about it down below.
The Exaltists Launch A Full-Scale Invasion on Waifei Peninsula?!

The ZZZ Special Program revealed some details regarding the story for Season 2, Chapter 3. It’s officially called Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night, an obvious reference to the Dylan Thomas poem of the same name.
With their operations in Waifei Peninsula constantly being disrupted by the Phathon siblings, it seems that the Exaltists will finally go for an all-out attack. The livestream featured the streets of Failume Heights under assault from Ethereals, Exaltists, and corrupted soldiers.
Thankfully, Yixuan and the mystics of Yunkui Summit are not its only defenders. Colonel Isolde will be leading Obol Squad and what seems like more New Eridu Defense Force soldiers in the defense of Failume Heights.
Additionally, there were some hints of Belle and Wise’s long-lost teacher, Carole Arna, finally resurfacing, which was the main reason the siblings even came to Waifei Peninsula.
Lastly, the ZZZ Special Program showed some scenes regarding Seed and Orphie’s pasts. It should be interesting to learn all about the Obol Squad’s mysterious Captain Magus, who might have been human once, since Isolde and her seem to have some history, and they showed a photograph that didn’t feature the mechanical tail. There will also be scenes about Seed Sr., who is apparently “asleep” inside the mech; just what is he to Seed, and why is he in a mech?
