With Hero Wars Alliance’s massive roster of 73 heroes, and more constantly being added, it can be tough to sort out the good from the great. Well, worry no more, because with this Hero Wars tier list guide, you’ll get an idea of which heroes to prioritize to get the most out of them.
This Hero Wars tier list guide is specifically for Hero Wars Alliance, not Dominion Era. Both games are similar, but have a slightly different list of heroes and stats. The best heroes for Alliance might not be as amazing in Dominion Era, and vice versa.
What Makes A Hero Great In Hero Wars
Of course, the main criteria is if they can do their job well. A tank can only be a great tank if they can absorb a ton of damage and potentially even redirect damage from their allies to them. However, another criteria is their versatility. Can they perform more roles than their main one? If a tank can also deal a lot of damage, heal, or apply buffs or debuffs, then that makes him incredibly useful in a ton of team compositions.
Also, the power and usefulness of a hero in Hero Wars changes as they level up, unlock abilities, talismans, skins, and all the other upgrades they receive as they grow. A hero that isn’t super useful at their lower levels might suddenly become unstoppable at later levels, and a hero that’s awesome for the early game content might outlive their usefulness in endgame content. For the sake of this Hero Wars tier list, we’ll take a look at the heroes at their very strongest to determine which of them is the best when all of their upgrades are unlocked.

Notable Hero Synergies and Counter Combos
- Fafnir, Artemis, Tristan (FART) - A classic synergy in Hero Wars. Fafnir buffs the team’s damage and grants protection while Artemis and Tristan deal out a ton of damage. Tristan also doubles as a tank, but it doesn’t hurt to add another one.
- Octavia, Dante, Yasmine - Heroes that are great at dodging, and their synergy allows them to increase their dodge chance even more. Octavia allows them to even dodge magic damage while giving them bonuses for dodging.
- Judge, Julius, Isaac (JJI) - This synergy focuses on spawning shields nonstop. If you need some heavy defense, this is the trio to go for.
