In 2024, Statista asked 3,000 U.S. adults which loyalty programs they prefer. 27% of respondents named points-based loyalty programs as their favorite.

This should come as no surprise. Who wouldn’t want to earn rewards for things they already do that are fun, like playing mobile games?

JustPlay also calls itself a loyalty program, but with so many sketchy points-based loyalty programs out there, it’s fair to ask: Is Just Play legit?

This review cuts through the hype to give you the real deal. We’ll explore what is JustPlay, whether it is legit, how it works, and what users really think.

Spoiler: If you’re looking for a get-paid-to app with no ads, more games, and a better payout, there’s a solid alternative called Scrambly, which we will introduce at the end.

Check out Scrambly

Now, let’s start and see if JustPlay is worth the shot.

What is JustPlay App?

JustPlay (or Just Play) is a get-paid-to (GPT) app that allows you to make money playing games as well as make donations from your earnings.

However, the app is unique from other GPT apps in that it only features proprietary games.

There are no third-party games, only games by the mobile game publishing company Gimica, which JustPlay has run since 2021.

While the Justplay app claims you can redeem gift cards and cash out your earnings, it’s a safe practice to make sure these apps are legit before trying them.

So, is JustPlay legit? Let’s find out.

Is Just Play Legit?

The JustPlay app is totally legit, as affirmed by plenty of user reviews on Google Play, Apple App Store, and elsewhere.

The company’s official website also has what seems like the entire JustPlay team on display, which implies that the company is serious about its business and has nothing to hide.

Furthermore, JustPlay’s listing on Crunchbase also shows a positive growth score based on its performance to date, among other things.

How Does JustPlay App Work?

Our “Is Just Play Legit?” skepticism came out as affirmative. Now, let’s see how the app works.

Games on Just Play

Since all JustPlay games are by a single developer, you cannot expect there to be many of them.

For example, Gimica has 34 games on Google Play and 12 on the Apple App Store.

So you can expect the number of games on JustPlay to be somewhere around 30, which is much less than what other apps like JustPlay, such as Scrambly (160+ games), offer.

Keep in mind that you’ll also get rewards for the games you download from within the JustPlay app and launch from there as well.

Separately downloading Gimica games from Google Play or the App Store will get you no rewards, as that’s outside of JustPlay’s scope.

Reward System of JustPlay

The JustPlay app doesn’t have a fixed points-to-cash conversion rate.

According to their loyalty program rules, the rate depends on several factors, including:

  • Ad revenue from in-game ads
  • Fraud detection scoring
  • Your in-game achievements
  • Time spent playing
  • Your country

Because of this complicated reward system, users can’t calculate their exact earnings in advance.

However, a plus side to this is that there’s no strict minimum payout threshold. You can cash out whenever you want as long as you’ve earned enough.

Redeem, Cashout, or Donate on JustPlay

Speaking of cashing out, what are Just Play cash out options?

Every three hours, the app converts your virtual earnings into your (supported) local currency.

From there, you can do three things with the accumulated earnings.

You can cash out your earnings via PayPal or redeem them as gift cards from any of the 10+ retailers of your choice (e.g., Amazon, Walmart, Target, etc.).

The third option is donating, which JustPlay makes sure to mention multiple times on its site and has a separate page for.

The charities you can donate to include:

  • Save the Children
  • Doctors without Borders
  • The Hunger Project
  • Clean Air Task Force

You can also find other charities in the JustPlay app.
