Genshin Impact Version 6.0: Livestream Date and Time, Nod-Krai, New Characters, and What to Expect

The countdown is on! The Genshin Impact 6.0 livestream is just around the corner, and fans are buzzing about what HoYoverse has planned for the next big update. With the release of the second half of version 5.8, the Natlan storyline is wrapping up with Ineffa’s debut and setting the stage for a whole new adventure.
This time, we’ll be leaving Natlan’s fiery landscape behind and heading into the icy lands of Nod-Krai, a mysterious subregion of Snezhnaya full of many new and known factions fighting for control. This region is hyped up to be very lore-heavy by the developer and is meant to tie everything together, as well as introduce players to fresh faces whose playable debuts will roll out across upcoming patches, starting with Version 6.0.

When to Watch the Genshin Impact 6.0 Livestream
Mark Your Calendars: Late August!
If you’re itching to see what’s next, you won’t be waiting long. While HoYoverse hasn’t officially dropped the date yet, Genshin’s updates usually stick to a six-week schedule, and livestreams always pop up about two weeks before launch on a Friday morning.
That means Version 6.0 should land on September 10, putting the livestream around August 29, likely in the morning (last one was at 8 a.m. ET). Expect HoYoverse to make the big announcement a few days before on social media. As always, the show will stream live on Twitch and YouTube, so you can catch all the reveals, Primogem codes, and juicy new details straight from the source.
New Characters & Banners We’re Hyped For
Three New Characters Confirmed!
Along with the new version, HoYoverse has already teased three new units coming in Version 6.0, and the hype is real:
- Lauma – A 5-star Dendro catalyst user who brings a brand-new Lunar-Bloom reaction into the mix. Unlike regular Bloom, this one can crit, and her damage scales entirely with Elemental Mastery. She will finally bring the bloom-archetype back into the meta with her unique reaction, as well as units like Nilou and Nahida for those who have been waiting to dust it off the bench
- Flins – A 5-star Electro polearm main DPS who’s built around Lunar-Charged reactions that were introduced by Iniffa. Unlike the Ineffa, who supports the team with her damage buff and shield, Flins is all about dishing out the big damage himself. He is shaping up to be a very powerful addition to the Electro roster, as well as working really well with the maid robot.
- Aino – A 4-star Hydro claymore sub-DPS, the first of her kind, who looks like she could be Xingqiu 2.0 with high application, but with a twist. When paired with Nod-Krai teammates, she gets even better, with faster Burst attacks.
Many leaks suggest that Lauma and Aino will headline Phase 1 with a Nahida rerun, while Flins will be running in Phase 2 with Yelan. The livestream should also clear up whether Aino will be a free unit (fingers crossed!).

New Region, Storyline, and Events
Say Hello to Nod-Krai!
Version 6.0 is also bringing us one of the biggest content drops of the year. Nod-Krai, a long-awaited Snezhnaya subregion, will finally open up for exploration. Expect new mechanics like the leaked Moonsign system, which gets stronger the more Nod-Krai characters you’ve got on your team.
The livestream will also tease the start of Nod-Krai’s story arc. On top of that, we’ll see previews of limited-time events, rewards, and even a free event weapon that could be a game-changer for Lauma and Nahida. Plus, you know there’ll be plenty of Primogems to grind for those upcoming banners.
Final Thoughts Before 6.0
Between a brand-new region, three new characters, and some game-changing mechanics, Genshin Impact 6.0 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting updates yet. But remember to keep in mind that all these things are leaks and can be subject to change until any official announcements are made; as such, take everything given with a grain of salt.
